Do you love radio and podcasts? Do you want to learn the skills and tools necessary to create your own podcast?
Putney Student Travel is proud to announce The Summer Podcast Institute, a pioneering 2018 collaboration with American Public Media in St. Paul, Minnesota. American Public Media produces and distributes award-winning shows and podcasts that reach millions of listeners such as Marketplace®, The Dinner Party Download®, The Splendid Table®, and A Prairie Home Companion® as well as the podcasts Brains On!, Terrible (Thanks For Asking,) The Hilarious World of Depression, and Peabody Award-winning series In The Dark.
In this two week intensive program staying on a college campus in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area, take workshops and seminars from radio and podcast professionals. Go behind the scenes and into the recording studios at APM’s headquarters. Learn the investigation, reporting, and story-crafting skills, together with sound engineering and audio editing, that go into creating your own radio and internet-ready podcasts. Special master classes with APM podcast hosts and producers help you hone your podcasts and create truly professional-quality recordings. Each session culminates with a listening party for family and friends of student work at the historic Fitzgerald Theater in downtown St. Paul, MN — home of A Prairie Home Companion. Take advantage of this unique opportunity to build real production experience in a growing field.
