Making Memories in Madrid: Notes from Spain

Learn how a day of cooking and culture helps Eliza bond with her peers on our Middle School Language Spain program.

Hola padres! On Wednesday, we had a cooking class at “The Cooking Club.” We all made Spanish tortillas, which included eggs, potatoes, and many more ingredients.

After we finished making the food, we enjoyed our lunch and the chef made us fresh churros, which were so very tasty!

After the cooking class, some people went to the Madrid soccer stadium while others went shopping.

To finish off the day, we went to dinner at “Casa de Valencia” where some of the more adventurous members of the group ordered rabbit! The food was good, with a variety of options such as paella, steak, croquettes, and many other rice dishes.

Thursday, we started the day by going to the park where we wrote in our journals and played with dogs. For lunch we got açaí, which was very good!

Now we are on the bus to Albacete. Some people are nervous and some people are excited to connect with Spanish kids our age— but I am hoping for the best!
