Andrew studied journalism at SUNY Buffalo State in his home city of Buffalo, NY. Upon graduating in 2014, he worked as a reporter for a community newspaper where he covered local news and curated a cooking column. Most recently, Andrew reported for The Chautauquan Daily, at the Chautauqua Institution, covering stories on opera, symphony and piano performance, and youth-centric literature. Since 2009, Andrew has traveled numerous times to Costa Rica’s Central Valley region for excursions and extended stays. In the past year, he spent four months in the city of Alajuela producing an independent writing and photography project that focuses on the Central Valley region and its people and attractions. His interests in cooking, art, and nature draw him to Costa Rica’s rich culture and environment. Andrew is proficient in Spanish. He has led Middle School Costa Rica.
