Cuong has been living in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam for the past nine months, where he has been teaching English and spearheading human resources projects for a transnational IT company. In college, Cuong studied studio art, focusing on representations of the diasporic Vietnamese experience in installation-based and painting pieces. After graduating, Cuong gained experience working as a substitute teacher at economically disadvantaged high schools, and during this time he discovered an affinity for teaching and working with troubled youth. His other work experience includes two years as an IT manager for a mid-size software company. Cuong enjoys photography, classical music, building race engines, fishing, and tennis. He grew up in a bilingual household and speaks fluent Vietnamese. Cuong has led Community Service Vietnam.
