Eileen is currently a PhD student in the East Asian Literature Department at Cornell University where she is studying Vietnamese culture and history through film and literature. She studied abroad in Vietnam during college and worked there after graduation as a Sales and Operations Manager for a leading shoe brand where her responsibilities included consulting brand image and establishing the company’s sales and operation policies. Her travels have taken her throughout almost all of Asia. She led Putney’s Vietnam Community Service program in Tinh Hoa in 2008 and 2009. Eileen is fluent in Vietnamese, including the dialect of the Quang Ngai region where Putney’s program is based, and has intermediate knowledge of Khmer, Chinese and French. She also loves to cook and eat fine food. Eileen has led Community Service Vietnam.
