  • Education: Barnard College, B.A., Latin American History.

Jamie has been exploring other cultures since a young age, seeing first-hand how poverty affects the developing world while living in Indonesia and Peru. After living abroad for 11 years, Jamie returned to the U.S. to attend Barnard College, where she focused on History and Latin America. While in New York City, she interned at Major League Soccer, but soon found that the sports world alone didn’t satisfy her original passion for development work. She quickly found her true calling at Right To Play, an international organization that uses sport and play to teach disadvantaged children life skills. Jamie then transitioned into teaching kindergarten at the Horace Mann School, using her time as an assistant teacher to learn about early childhood education and behaviors. At Horace Mann, Jamie also coached the High School Girls Varsity Volleyball team. This fall, Jamie will begin graduate studies in international affairs at Columbia University, focusing on economic and political development. Jamie is half Chilean and half English and is bilingual in Spanish and English. She is also proficient in Portuguese and French. Jamie has led Community Service Peru.
