- Education: New York University, B.A., Media, Culture, and Communication with honors.
During his junior year in college while studying abroad in Madrid, Spain Jorge first became interested in working with students. His experience teaching English to Spanish students left a lasting impression that would ultimately lead him to an AmeriCorps teaching fellowship with Citizen Schools at the Brooklyn School for Global Studies in New York. As a Fellow, Jorge has worked closely with volunteers to develop high-level, engaging apprenticeships that highlight college and career connections for at-risk middle-school students that range from blogging with Google volunteers, to mock court sessions with New York City litigators, to running a popular Manhattan coffee shop for an entire afternoon. Jorge has traveled extensively throughout much of Latin America, including Cuba, Venezuela, and Guatemala. He enjoys reading, running, and cooking. He is currently spending this spring on a gastronomical tour of Italy, France, and Spain (his grandfather’s birthplace). Jorge is fluent in Spanish. He has led Community Service Argentina.
