Juan Andrés Suárez

Before leaving for the unpredictable cold weather of New Hampshire, Juan was born and raised in Quito, capital of Ecuador. During his high school years, he complemented his schoolwork with social service, particularly with organizations that helped children who lived on the streets, or who had suffered different types of abuse.  At Saint Anselm, Juan focused on political philosophy and coordinated ‘Inti-Soccer’; a Manchester-based organization that provides soccer and academic training for children of refugees.  During the summer of 2010, besides rooting for Argentina in the World Cup, he conducted research on postmodernist thought and its implications with sexuality, marriage and society. Juan is fluent is Spanish. He has led Community Service Costa Rica.
