- Education: University of Manchester, England, B.A., American Studies with Honors.
During her time at University, Lydia took part in an exchange program to the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. There, she became involved with the University’s Academic Enrichment Upward Bound Program and worked as an R.A., supporting local high school students in education, career choices and personal goals. After graduating, Lydia’s passion for education prompted a move to Washington D.C. to intern in administration for a Government based think tank for policy and education. She has since held various teaching positions, including Kindergarten Art and 3rd grade after school. Lydia is currently working for the youth exchange department of a student travel company, coordinating tours throughout america for foreign academic exchange students studying in the US. In her spare time Lydia loves to travel and watch Iron Chef. 2011 was Lydia’s third year with Excel at Amherst College.
