Masha graduated with honors from Princeton University in 2010 where she studied Slavic Languages & Literatures and the Visual Arts. For her senior thesis she shot and edited a 55-minute documentary film, “Orange Hangover”, about the after-effects of the Orange Revolution in Ukraine. Through interviews with city officials and market vendors alike, the film took a look at the way public perception of the Orange Revolution has shaped the people’s understanding of national identity and political agency. The film won the departmental award in Visual Arts at Princeton and was screened as part of the Boston International Film Festival in April 2011. Masha currently lives in Paris where she is pursuing a masters degree in Film Studies and Anthropology at the École Normale Supérieure. She continues to focus on Eastern European cinema, writing her masters thesis on the history of Polish documentary film. She is fluent in French and Russian, and speaks some Spanish and Polish as well. She has led Excel Oxford/Tuscany.
