- Education: Indiana University, B.A., Cognitive Science, minor in Psychology, Northwestern University, M.S., Secondary Mathematics Education.
Russell has worked with teenagers in a variety of contexts. He was a group leader and supervisor at the New Dominion School in Oldtown, Maryland, a wilderness therapy school for at-risk teenage boys. He has tutored students in math, and has taught mathematics at Twin Valley High School in Wilmington, Vermont and Vermont Academy in Saxons River. He coaches basketball, skiing, and track & field. This past year he started an ultimate frisbee club and a Scrabble club. In his free time Russell keeps himself busy with music (keyboards mostly) and baking bread. 2011 was Russell’s third summer with Putney. He has led Community Service Dominica and Cultural Exploration Australia, New Zealand, Fiji.
