During her studies at College of Charleston, Sarah opted for a truly nuanced education – majoring in three different subjects and taking classes on modern African history, Spanish literature, Extremist Politics, and Esoteric Religions. While in college, she studied abroad in Trujillo, Spain and Tangier, Morocco and was also a member of the College of Charleston varsity soccer program. In graduate school, Sarah continued her international studies, with a semester in Prague, where she studied Czech and Eastern European politics at Universitat Karlova, and worked for Amnesty International as well as Civic Concepts International. Next, Sarah traveled to Madrid, Spain, where she studied EU immigration policies. After graduating, Sarah moved to Houston, TX where she began to work with YES Prep Public Schools, teaching 6th grade Spanish, Social Studies, Art, and Yearbook. She is the district course leader for Social Studies, Model UN coach, and the coach of the boys and girls soccer programs. Sarah is excited to return to the Dominican Republic, where she spent several weeks last summer coordinating a professional development program for teachers.
