While at Bard, Simone focused her studies on painting, printmaking, and Spanish. She spent a winter session abroad studying Spanish in Oaxaca, Mexico. After graduation, Simone received a grant from the Spanish Education Ministry to teach English at a public elementary school in Málaga, Spain. Completely enamored with the vibrant culture and people of Spain, she has traveled the country extensively– hiking the Camino of Santiago in Galicia, exploring the Pueblos Blancos of Andalucía, eating seafood along the coast of Asturias and skiing in the Sierra Nevada in Granada. Simone has taught printmaking classes at a transitional residence for foster children and arts and crafts to youth from New York City homeless shelters. She is currently teaching at an elementary school in Madrid while pursuing a degree in Artistic Education at La Universidad Complutense. Simone enjoys painting, basketball, biking, teaching, yoga, traveling, and museums. She has led for Putney for three summers.  Simone taught a Spanish Conversation course at our Excel at Amherst College program in 2009, and led Language Learning Spain in 2010 and 2011. Simone is fluent in Spanish.
