While at Sarah Lawrence College, Daniel studied guitar and film, wrote lots of poetry, and spent his junior year studying in Paris. His year abroad inspired him to split the first year after graduation in Israel between living on kibbutz learning Hebrew and working at a friend’s gym. The South Americans on the kibbutz piqued Daniel’s curiosity to get to know Latin America better. After Israel, he headed to Buenos Aires where he spent the year learning Spanish and teaching English to business people. This formula worked so well that Daniel took his routine to Madrid and Rabat and spent a few more years traveling, learning, and teaching. Eventually, Daniel returned to the U.S. and became an ESL teacher in Durham, North Carolina where his bilingual skills were in high demand. Now living in Dallas, Texas with his wife and two sons, Daniel teaches Spanish and Karate at an amazing middle school.
