As a student at Durham University, Gabriel’s studies focused on translation and interpretation, as well as cognitive literary theory in modern French literature. He spent a year abroad studying in Toulouse, France, where his studies ranged from early-modern philosophy to French literature and history. Here he spent much of his time playing rugby with the university first team, making it to the Occitanie finals, as well as traveling across the region to areas such as Abli, Bordeaux, Perpignan, and Montpellier. While in France, Gabriel also worked part-time as a journalist intern for the Borgen Project, a nonprofit organization that raises awareness for anti-poverty initiatives worldwide. Gabriel is fluent in French.
