Originally from San Diego, Jolene majored in psychology at Carleton College and studied studio art abroad in the Cook Islands, New Zealand, and Australia. After graduating she volunteered with AmeriCorps in Rochester, NY and worked at a nonprofit serving youth ages 8-21. She earned a master’s degree in education from the University of Rochester and has taught at project-based learning schools in Rochester and San Diego. In her free time Jolene enjoys being outdoors, scuba diving, and playing volleyball. She once competed in an Olympic-distance triathlon. Jolene has led Putney programs in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Hawaii and was a psychology instructor for Putney Pre-College Vermont. She studied French throughout high school and college and has traveled in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Poland, Ukraine, and Scotland. She currently teaches near Seattle.
