Joseph is a photographer, photo, and video educator in the Isaacson School at Colorado Mountain College based in the Rocky Mountains of Central Colorado. After college, he successfully thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail southbound from Maine to Georgia in one season. His early professional career in journalism included a three year tenure as an editor at Scuba Diving magazine where he traveled internationally exploring dive destinations and writing about them. From 2011 to 2014, he was an instructor in photography at the University of Tampa in Florida and was a recipient of the 2013 Hillsborough County Artist Grant during this tenure. He has been awarded Telly and Webby awards for campaigns that featured his still photography. During his freelance career, he also worked as a photographer on National Geographic and National Science Foundation grant-funded research expeditions in Central America. He enjoys fly fishing, snowboarding, and climbing mountains.
