Alison Taverna
While completing her graduate studies at Chatham University, Taverna taught for Words Without Walls, an outreach program that brings creative writing into jails and rehabilitation facilities. Her collection of poems, What Hollywood Taught Me, won the 2015 Robin Becker Chapbook Prize by Seven Kitchens Press. Taverna spent the next four years working as an editor for Autumn House Press and as the Poetry Instructor for Pittsburgh’s Creative and Performing Arts High School. She has previously led our writing program in Ireland. Presently, Taverna teaches high school English at Colorado Early Colleges.
