While at Taylor University, Kelli studied English with a concentration in creative writing and spent a semester in Ireland studying Irish culture, history, and literature. After graduation, she led programs at the YMCA of the Rockies in Rocky Mountain National Park before continuing her education at Vanderbilt University in Higher Education Administration. For the past ten years, she has worked at an independent school in Nashville where she wears many hats, including English teacher, college counselor, writing center coordinator, and freshman grade-level chair. She recently started a writer-in-residence program to foster collaboration between students and professional writers. When she’s not grading essays or helping students craft their college applications, Kelli loves reading and interior design. She has traveled with students to Belize to study wildlife and Mesoamerican archaeological sites, to England and Scotland to study history and literature, and she has served as a Program Assistant and Director for our Pre-College programs in Oxford and Siena.
