While at Middlebury College, Jacqueline focused her studies on French theatre and performing arts. She has traveled extensively in France and much of Europe, living for a time in Paris and working for several years as the dean of a French language immersion program in Montpellier, France. After returning to the United States, Jacqueline taught French at the university level and then found her niche teaching high school French at an independent school. Her love of travel and language learning led her to explore Central America during her school vacations where she decided to learn Spanish and surfing. She moved to Costa Rica two and a half years ago and began teaching French at an English-Spanish bilingual school. She surfs almost daily and loves living the pura vida lifestyle. She is fluent in French and is working towards fluency in Spanish. Jacqueline led Putney’s Language France program last summer.Â
