While at the University of Colorado, Kaitlyn studied Spanish, Italian, and broadcast journalism. After graduation, she worked for Land Information New Zealand in Wellington, New Zealand, for a year and fell in love with skiing, sailing, and scuba diving in the Southern Hemisphere. Kaitlyn then returned to Colorado for her master’s degree in educational leadership and began leading student travel abroad—exploring the mosques of Istanbul, hiking among ancient ruins in Athens, dancing flamenco in Madrid, trail running in Machu Picchu, paddling the Pacuare River in Costa Rica, and swimming with sea lions in the Galápagos Islands. Kaitlyn works at Poudre Fire Authority as a Public Education and Risk Reduction Manager. She enjoys weekends full of snowboarding, climbing, and rafting in Colorado with her husband, Morgan, and her toddler, Porter. She has led Putney’s Skiing in Patagonia and Middle School Iceland programs.
