Originally born in Argentina, Lucas was raised with his siblings in Rhode Island. In his last year as an undergraduate at Hofstra University, Lucas became very involved with his university’s Anthropology Department, studying Indigenous cultures across the Americas, examining the relationship between food and culture globally, volunteering at Hofstra’s Center for Public Archaeology, and becoming the teaching assistant for a human evolution class. Lucas currently finds himself working as the lead senior clinical research assistant for a treatment study focusing on providing culturally tailored therapy for Latinx adolescents and their families. Recently he had the honor to present a portion of his team’s research at the National Latinx Psychological Association’s 2022 conference in Denver, Colorado, and Brown University’s 2023 RA Research Day. Lucas spends his free time hiking, kayaking, and staying active and is returning to his home country with Putney Student Travel to share his country and culture with students. Lucas has previously led Putney’s Service programs in the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica. He is natively fluent in Spanish and English.
