Mackenzie had her first experience abroad at 19, studying biodiversity in the rainforests of Equatorial Guinea, Africa. With an adventurous spirit and new love of the Spanish language, Mackenzie continued her studies in Madrid and went on to pursue job opportunities in Spain, Guatemala, and Equatorial Guinea. As someone who values authentic connection, she has found great joy in her experiences at Putney, leading programs in Costa Rica, Vermont, Hawai’i, Tanzania, Argentina, and Vietnam. She currently directs programs in Spain, Tanzania, and Argentina. Mackenzie spends her free time outside exploring New England’s vast trail networks and has completed thru-hikes of the Appalachian Trail, Long Trail, Colorado Trail, and John Muir Trail.
