At Columbia University, Sarah is pursuing a Ph.D. in international and comparative education. For her dissertation, she is currently on a Fulbright scholarship in Bordeaux, France, researching global food issues in the local context. Her passion for farm-to-table and food led her to the Natural Gourmet Institute, a health-supportive cooking school, where she received a chef diploma and subsequently worked in Michelin restaurants. Sarah has led for Putney on service programs in Costa Rica, Peru, and Ecuador, and has taught farm-to-table seminars in Vermont and French Cuisine seminars in Paris, France. She speaks Spanish and French. Sarah also enjoys yoga and surfing.
