While studying business administration at IP University, Vipul discovered a love for the outdoors and travel. By taking mountaineering courses and leading high mountain expeditions and treks in the Himalayas, he realized the impact of experiential learning and travel on the mind and body. He went on to get a diploma in outdoor education in Germany and then worked with Outward Bound as a field instructor leading backpacking and canoeing trips on the East Coast of the U.S. He currently teaches backpacking/leadership and wilderness medicine courses at the Hanifl Centre for Outdoor Education and Environmental Study, an outreach of Woodstock School. He has also been part of various mountain expeditions and contributed to the Indian Mountaineering Journal. Vipul is fluent in English and Hindi and aspires to hold a master’s degree in outdoor education. He has previously led Putney’s Service India program.
