Taisa Barros
After completing her studies in adult learning and leadership at Columbia University, Taísa returned to her native Brazil and became one of the founding faculty members at Avenues The World School’s São Paulo campus, where she has dedicated the past six years. During this tenure, she played a pivotal role as one of the lead educators in the inaugural program ‘Os Primeiros’, which provided thirty rising tenth-graders with firsthand experience in project-based learning, focusing on local and global sustainability practices. Subsequently, Taísa transitioned to the school’s Student Success Team, serving as a Language Support Specialist. Taísa is fluent in Portuguese and English, possesses a working knowledge of Italian, and has recently embarked on learning modern Greek. Over the past six years, she has led groups of Avenues students on experiential learning journeys within Brazil and internationally, including destinations such as the U.S., Morocco, and Senegal. Traveling is undeniably one of her primary passions, alongside language acquisition, culinary exploration, dance, and discovering diverse musical traditions from around the globe. Taísa is also a big advocate of journaling during her travels and delights in capturing moments through photography and creating short video collages to immortalize her experiences.
