Originally from California, Annabelle grew up attending an international school in Costa Rica. As an undergraduate researcher for the UC Berkeley Urban Bee Lab, she collected and studied native Costa Rican and Californian bee populations for two years. She is passionate about conservation and was also involved with Surfrider, the ocean conservation organization, both in her hometown of Tamarindo and throughout her time as a student at Berkeley. Annabelle currently spends her winters working for Challenge Aspen as an adaptive ski instructor, teaching skiing to people with disabilities in Aspen, Colorado. She has previously led high school students in psychology and neuroscience summer programs at Harvard University, and has also led Putney’s middle school Costa Rica program. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.
