While at Auburn, Britt’s focus on marine parasitology took her to Vietnam for field collections and a global science conference, where she was able to present the discovery of a new fish parasite. During this trip to Vietnam, Britt fell in love with traveling, nature, and adventure. Continuing her travels to Japan, Hong Kong, and Malaysia, Britt promoted marine conservation through her work with Miss SCUBA USA. During 2022, Britt solo hiked the entire Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada. After completing the trail, and some traveling around South America, she moved back to Hawaii to continue to work in the field, focusing on marine conservation. She is currently working as an environmental scientist and boat captain in the Hawaiian Islands.
