While at Auburn, Britt’s focus on marine parasitology took her to Vietnam for field collections and a global science conference, where she was able to present the discovery of a new fish parasite. During this trip to Vietnam, Britt fell in love with traveling, nature, and adventure. Continuing her travels to Japan, Hong Kong, and Malaysia, Britt promoted marine conservation through her work with Miss SCUBA USA.. During 2022, Britt solo hiked the entire Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada. After completing the trail, she traveled to various parts of Peru backpacking through the mountains and learning about the wonderful nature and culture. Post travels, Britt returned to Hawaii as an octopus biologist, marine naturalist, and marine biology teacher at the local project based charter school. Presently, she is working on a boat as a marine naturalist inspiring and educating people to help save our oceans and to take care of the land we live on.
