Elizabeth Fortier
While at Emmanuel College, Liz explored the broad field of psychology, developing a specific interest in neuroscience and how the brain works. As a senior, she interned with Boston Emergency Medical to research the health and wellness of EMS professionals and the benefit of daily physical activity on mental health. Liz continued to hone research skills at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she worked as an intern on a study looking at nightmares as a hallmark symptom of post-traumatic stress disorder. After graduating, she wanted a break from the city and moved to Vail, Colorado, to work as a children’s ski instructor and train with the adaptive program. Her love of travel started during a semester studying abroad and has recently led her to explore more of the U.S., including many national parks. In her free time, she enjoys playing and coaching lacrosse, hiking, and skiing. This fall, Liz is excited to begin a Doctor of Occupational Therapy program through Creighton University.
