Heather Crouch
While at the College of Charleston, Heather focused on honing her Spanish language skills and participated in community service organizations such as Bonner Leaders and Best Buddies. She studied abroad in Spain and traveled to many countries in Central America through Alternative Spring Break. After graduating, Heather taught English in Ecuador through WorldTeach for a year and half. Upon returning to the U.S., she moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked in domestic nonprofits for several years before moving to Peru. There, Heather spent two years as the volunteer coordinator for a local nonprofit and three years teaching English at a bilingual school. Heather discovered her love for the classroom and is now an elementary school teacher in Asheville, North Carolina, where she seeks to bring a global perspective to education. She is fluent in Spanish and is always looking for new adventures. Heather has previously led Putney’s language immersion and service program in Ecuador and & the Galápagos.
