Over the last ten years, Jackson has gained extensive experience in student travel, as both trip leader and program manager, primarily in his home country of Tanzania. Beginning in 2013, he served as a link between local communities and student groups, and led service programs for international groups in numerous villages. Later, Jackson began leading service trips abroad, in both Thailand and China. He then transitioned into a program management role, overseeing all aspects of trip creation and planning, from budgets to itineraries and service project identification. Jackson is passionate about showing students the value of travel, facilitating cross-cultural connections, and building relationships with local communities. In addition to leading programs, he has traveled to Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Jackson has twice completed Wilderness First Responder courses, led Putney’s Service Tanzania programs, and is fluent in English, Kiswahili, and Kiraqw.
