Kelsey Jimenez
While at the University of Florida, Kelsey concentrated on film and minored in Latin American studies and Spanish. She spent one summer studying abroad in the south of Spain and led a group of youth to an international camp in Norway during another. With exploration and youth development always at the top of her list of interests, the decision to enroll in a graduate program for education after college was natural. She moved to Colorado to earn her second degree, enjoying new opportunities to hike and snowboard during her two years there. Kelsey then relocated to Costa Rica to begin her career as an international educator and connect with her heritage. She fell in love with both Latin America and her role as a secondary English Language Arts teacher, using literature to build character and language to effect change with middle and high school students from around the world. Kelsey returned to school to earn a degree in Educational Leadership and has employed those skills directing programs for high schoolers in North America, Europe, and Asia. Next year, Kelsey will be preparing to move abroad and experience the education system in a new part of the world.
