While at Barnard, Lucia focused on urban public health issues in both New York and Paris, ultimately culminating in an undergraduate thesis on maternity leave policies for municipal employees. Throughout her education, she led tours for the university’s Admissions Office, conducted epidemiology research, and helped co-found a scientific journal focused on women’s health. However, Lucia’s true passion is in travel, languages, and outdoor adventure. She spent six months in Paris living with a host family and conducting policy research for her thesis, as well as completing a six day trek through Torres del Paine in Patagonia. Focusing on cultural immersion, adventure, and connection, she has visited over thirty countries, leading youth programs, traveling with friends and family, and navigating solo treks. Lucia will soon be starting a career in healthcare management consulting. She is fluent in French and is currently learning Spanish.
