Stephanie delved deeply into Japanese culture and language during her academic journey, including a transformative summer study abroad experience at Kanda University of International Studies. After graduation, she moved to Japan, immersing herself in its vibrant culture for over nine years while honing her Japanese language skills and teaching students of all ages. She is most proud of establishing a global pen pal program and an English library in Saitama, Japan, both aimed at helping English learners enhance their language skills and cultural understanding. After moving back to America, she founded an after-school Japanese club in her hometown to foster cultural appreciation and was awarded Beginning Teacher of the Year at her school for 2022-2023. Her extensive international experience and deep commitment to fostering cross-cultural understanding make her an exceptional leader and educator. Stephanie is preparing to pursue a master’s degree in Instructional Design at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro this fall, furthering her dedication to innovative education.
