Scooter is a Chicago native who spent over 12 years in the Los Angeles area before moving back home to the Windy City. After studying journalism at the University of Iowa, he switched to film school while studying creative writing from teachers in the renowned Iowa Writers Workshop. Following college, Scooter packed his bags for Hollywood and worked on the set of big-budget feature films for years before writing and producing commercials and new media, his most rewarding work being the “Donate Life” campaign that resulted in a significant increase in males aged 18-30 becoming organ donors.

He currently covers electric mobility news as an editor and writer for Electrek, which offers him the opportunity to travel around the globe test driving EVs and exploring the ever-growing world of sustainable transportation. Through his efforts, Scooter has built working relationships with major automakers such as Mercedes-Benz, Ford, Hyundai, Polestar, Lucid Motors, and Rivian. In addition to cars, he also has extensive knowledge of commercial EVs, electric skateboards, electric boats, and eVTOLs.
