Baylea Jones
While earning her M.F.A. at Western New England University, Baylea attended writing residencies in the Berkshires and Dublin and served as managing editor of Common Ground Review. Since then, she has taught writing workshops with GrubStreet, worked with Writers in the Schools (WITS), and led Putney programs in Ireland and Greece. As a freelancer, Baylea wrote columns for Eater Houston and Neighborhoods; published articles at HuffPost, Electric Literature, BuzzFeed, HelloGiggles, Ravishly, and more; and was featured on the Writing Class Radio podcast. Her creative work has been published in Oxford American and VQR, received an honorable mention in Glimmer Train, and was selected as a finalist for the New Letters prize. She currently teaches writing at the University of Houston and Kinder High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. Baylea lives in Houston with her wife and three cats, and she’s working on a memoir. She has led Putney writing programs in Greece and Ireland.
