While at Earlham College, Tyler focused on Latin American history, studying abroad and interning in Quito, Ecuador. He received a research grant to study western nostalgia for Al-Andalus in Spain and Morocco and served as an ESL teacher in Phichit, Thailand. Since graduating, Tyler has become more interested in language learning and language teaching. He moved to Pamplona, Spain to teach university-level Spanish courses and dive deeper into language acquisition theory at the Universidad de Navarra. Tyler now works as a Spanish, French, and Latin teacher at the middle school level. He is fluent in Spanish and French, and proficient in Thai, Italian, and Polish.
