While at the University of Central Florida, Zulmaris focused on clinical psychology and teaching English as a foreign language. After completing her undergraduate degree, she moved to Madrid, Spain, where she taught English at a bilingual primary school through the Spanish Ministry of Education. During her time in Spain, she also backpacked across 11 countries in Europe. Zulmaris later attended Vogue College of Fashion, where she focused on fashion styling and visual culture, with an interest in how global aesthetics and identity shape contemporary fashion. She traveled throughout Latin America, exploring how different cultures use fashion and art as a form of expression. Zulmaris also worked as a stylist for GQ and Vanity Fair Spain, working alongside a variety of Hispanic talent and creative teams for over 25 publications. In addition to her fashion styling work, Zulmaris spends her free time volunteering at public schools, where she leads art classes and creative workshops. She believes fashion and art should be available to everyone, regardless of age and background. Zulmaris now works as a freelance stylist, contributing to editorial and styling projects while supporting creative teams in producing culturally informed work. This fall, Zulmaris will continue to expand her experience in fashion with a focus on bringing creative direction to Latin American brands. Zulmaris is fluent in English and Spanish and has previously led Putney’s Language Spain and Service Puerto Rico programs.
