Sylvie studied anthropology and Spanish at the University of Vermont, spending three semesters abroad in Spain, Argentina, and Hong Kong and going on many research trips to Peru. She went on to pursue a master’s degree in anthropology at Brigham Young University, where she studied community dynamics surrounding water management in two highland villages in the Huarochirí Province of Peru. She has led Putney programs in Peru, Ecuador, Chile and Argentina, and Costa Rica. She now coordinates Putney programs in Peru, China, and Vermont, oversees our Custom Programs, and works on the leader hiring team. Sylvie speaks Spanish and is learning Mandarin Chinese. She loves horseback riding, being outside with her dogs, and eating good food.
