Jahmel is a multidisciplinary creative, educator, and award-winning filmmaker whose work bridges storytelling, cultural exchange, and youth development. He graduated from Columbia College Hollywood, where he studied cinematography and directing. His professional experience includes collaborations on productions for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (Oscars), as well as projects with Netflix, Amazon, and other global brands. Jahmel’s creative work spans film, photography, and immersive art, with projects recognized by the American Black Film Festival, where his co-produced feature earned multiple awards, including Best Film. His experience in professional production shapes a thoughtful, hands-on approach to both storytelling and mentorship. As a longtime leader with Putney Student Travel, Jahmel has led programs across the U.S. and internationally—from Yellowstone and Iceland to Tokyo. He is committed to fostering supportive environments where students can develop creativity, build connections, and grow through new experiences.
