While at Cornell, Alicia focused on global health disparities with a concentration in economics and development. She had the opportunity to participate in Cornell’s Global Health Program and spent eight weeks researching antimicrobial resistance in Tanzania with medical students at Kilimanjaro Medical College-University in Moshi, Tanzania. During her undergraduate years, she was also a varsity athlete on the women’s swimming and rowing teams and competed for the club Nordic ski team. Alicia graduated cum laude as a four-year varsity letterman. Following graduation, she spent one month backpacking up the East Coast of Australia. She then matriculated into the University of Florida’s two-year post-baccalaureate program to complete the prerequisites for dental school. Alicia now works as a dental assistant, treating patients across Maine with periodontal issues. Alicia is fluent in English and proficient in Spanish and Swahili. This fall, Alicia will be attending dental school at the University of New England
