The GoPutney.com (the “Site”) Privacy Policy describes how the Site collects and uses personal information.  You can review the Site’s Privacy Policy by clicking on the words “Privacy Policy” above.

This COPPA NOTICE: Direct Notice to Parents (“COPPA Notice”) gives parents additional information on the Site’s practices in collecting and using personal information from children under 13 years of age.

 2. Who operates the site?

Putney Student Travel Incorporated, a Vermont corporation, located at 345 Hickory Ridge Road, Putney, VA 05346.

 2. What information does the Site collect and use?

We collect personally identifiable information to respond to catalog requests.  The types of personally identifiable information we collect at that time include the requestor’s first and last name, address, and email address.  We may also ask for, but do not require, additional information including the student’s gender, school and school year.

We also collect personally identifiable information during the Online Application process for one of our travel programs.  The types of personally identifiable information that we collect at that time include students’ first and last name, address, email address, date of birth, year in school, gender, and school.  We may also ask for, but do not require, additional information including phone number, prior camps or programs attended, siblings, languages spoken, and extra-curricular activities.

We may also collect what is known as non-personally identifiable information.  For example, we may collect certain non-personally identifiable information when you visit many of our Web pages such as the type of browser you are using, the type of operating system you are using, and the domain name of your Internet service provider.

3. How does the Site collect this information?

Parents and/or children submit personally identifiable information about children when submitting catalog requests.  Parents submit personally identifiable information about children when submitting an Online Application for one of our travel programs.  After the parent has completed the Online Application, we may then obtain additional information, including personally identifiable information, from the parent or child to supplement the information provided by the parent in the application.

 4. How will the Site use this information?

The Site uses the personally identifiable information provided solely for internal operating purposes, including responding to catalog requests and processing applications for admission.

 5. Does the Site share this information with any third parties?

The Site only uses personally identifiable information about children for internal operating purposes and does not share personal information received from parents or children with third parties, except as required to run the internal operations of the Site.  Any and all third party vendors involved in performing the services required for the internal operations of the Site are required to uphold the terms of the Privacy Policy.

 6. How does the Site get consent from parents for the collection of personal information?

In order to submit an Online Application for one of our travel programs, the applicant must certify that he/she is not under the age of 13.  The applicant must also, if applicable, certify he/she has reviewed and consents to the Site’s practices in collecting and using personal information from children under 13 years of age as specified in this COPPA Notice.  A parent’s affirmative COPPA consent during the application process means that such parent consents to the collection, use and disclosure of the personally identifiable information of his or her child in accordance with the Privacy Policy and has reviewed this COPPA Notice.
