Babi Amaral
While at the Escola da Cidade, Babi focused on researching bioconstruction and zero-waste principles. As a result, she spent seven months conducting a research project at Piracanga Ecovillage, a sustainable community in Brazil. Following her graduation, she returned to Piracanga for a year and a half, where she began working as a visual artist, painting surfboards, canvases, and murals. Recently, she was selected for an international fellowship on sustainability and leadership run by United People Global. Due to her dedication, she was invited to participate in on-site training at the Hurricane Island Center for Leadership and Science in Maine, where she spent two summers volunteering as an environmental educator for middle and high school students. Currently, Babi dedicates her efforts to Make Space, an organization she founded to share the stories of sustainability leaders around the world, highlighting their social and environmental impact. She has visited 14 countries, and her dream is to live in Hawaii and continue traveling the globe, recording a documentary series featuring those sustainability leaders. Babi is fluent in Portuguese and English and is proficient in Spanish.
