While at Goucher, Kat focused on the intersections of language, culture, art, and food. She spent her junior year in Paris interning with various food and art history groups while conducting research for her thesis on the sociological and cultural changes in French pastry. An avid and accomplished distance runner, Kat also was a Captain of the DIII Cross Country and Indoor/Outdoor Track teams. After graduating, Kat led outdoor trips through Zion National Park, the Grand Canyon and Bryce Canyon with an active travel organization and taught English to middle and high schoolers in Lyon, France. Kat then lived in New Orleans where she was a teacher and program director of a running-based youth leadership non-profit. Kat moved to Chicago to attend graduate school at the University of Chicago and now works as a School Social Worker in Chicago Public Schools. When not working with and celebrating students, Kat enjoys organizing lake jumps, art retreats, and going on bike rides to find new pizza places. Kat is fluent in French and has dabbled in Spanish and Italian. This fall, Kat will be cheering on her brothers as they bike 200 miles across the Philadelphia region.
