While at Brown, Ronan focused on Roman and Byzantine history and spent three years learning modern Greek. Throughout that time, he traveled extensively through Greece, exploring Athens, the mountains in Kalabaka, and various islands. Last summer, he returned, leading Putney’s Middle School Italy & Greece program. Ronan has also traveled to over 40 states in the U.S. and climbed an active volcano in Guatemala. Currently, he works as an eighth-grade civics teacher in a public school in Washington, D.C. He is fluent in Greek and dabbles in Spanish. This fall, Ronan will begin teaching high school in the nation’s capital.
