Catherine Sullivan
While at the University of New Hampshire, Catherine carried out an independent study focused on increasing inclusivity within the Engineering field for students with special abilities and learning needs. After graduating, she followed her passion and interest in STEM education to Brown University, where she was trained as a teacher and awarded an Urban Education Fellowship. Since then, she has been teaching various Science and Math courses in the Providence Public School District. Catherine has traveled to Xela, Guatemala, and worked as an advocate with the Coalition for a Multilingual Rhode Island in efforts to better support her multilingual learners. In 2023, she completed a summer research experience in a Biomedical Engineering lab at Brown University. These days, she is crafting her identity as a teacher-writer through collaboration with the Knowles Teacher Initiative and as a board member of the Rhode Island Writing Project.
