Janis Mackay is a writer, storyteller, and creative writing tutor from Scotland. She has a master’s in creative writing and teaches creative writing at Edinburgh University. Janis has published 12 books for children, and her latest novel—On a Northern Shore—is her first published novel for adults. Her novel The Accidental Time Traveller won the Scottish Children’s Book Awards. As a storyteller, much of her inspiration for novels come from the rich Celtic tradition of myths and legends. She lives in the Scottish Borders and is currently working on a nonfiction book that brings together the practices of creative writing for well-being and folklore.
