Emma’s love of language, literature, and food have drawn her to travel since she was a high schooler herself. Though the pandemic stunted her study abroad plans, she seized the opportunity to move to Madrid, Spain, after graduation to teach English as a Second Language at a vocational school. Between teaching responsibilities, Emma spent her summers leading trips in two different regions of Costa Rica and in Hawai’i, and eventually joined Putney Student Travel’s year-round team Emma continues to be based in Madrid, where she directs Putney programs in Italy & Greece, Switzerland, Italy, France & Holland, Spain, and Costa Rica. Emma spends much of her free time training and competing with her volleyball team, trying new restaurants, reading, and solving the New York Times puzzles.
