Amy has over a decade of experience working with students and supporting a wide range of experiential education programs. After completing her undergraduate degree—during which she studied abroad in England and interned in Lithuania—Amy spent a year in Ecuador teaching English and improving her Spanish language skills. Upon returning to the U.S., she moved to Washington, D.C., and coordinated an Intensive English Program, where she supported international students and organized cultural activities around the city. After earning her master’s degree in California, Amy returned to D.C. in 2016 and has since worked on international education initiatives at American University (AU) and the U.S. Department of Education. At AU, Amy advised students on study abroad opportunities, managed international partnerships, and traveled with students to Vietnam and Laos as part of Alternative Break Programs focused on post-conflict recovery. She was also selected as a Fulbright Scholar to India, where she explored strategic opportunities to strengthen educational partnerships between U.S. and Indian institutions. Most recently, at the U.S. Department of Education, Amy was proud to serve as a Program Officer, where she managed grants that increased access to international and foreign language learning opportunities for students, educators, and institutions across the United States. In her free time, Amy enjoys being outdoors, traveling, baking, and volunteering. She has been a volunteer scuba diver at the National Aquarium in Baltimore since 2012 and has also volunteered with Girls in Aviation, the Rock Creek Conservancy, and the DC Medical Reserve Corps. Amy loves sailing and is looking forward to spending time on the Anacostia and Potomac Rivers this summer!
