Babi Amaral
While at the Escola da Cidade, Babi focused on researching bioconstruction and zero waste principles. As a result, she spent seven months conducting a research project in Piracanga Ecovillage, a sustainable community in Brazil. Following her graduation, she moved back to Piracanga for a year and a half, where she began working as a visual artist, painting surfboards, canvas, and murals. Recently, she was selected for an international fellowship on sustainability and leadership run by United People Global, and because of her dedication, she was invited to do on-site training at the Hurricane Island Center for Leadership and Science in Maine, where she spent two summers volunteering as an environmental educator for middle and high school students. Presently, Babi dedicates her efforts to Make Space, an organization she founded, which tells the stories of sustainability leaders worldwide, highlighting their social and environmental impact. Babi has already visited 13 countries, and her dream is to continue traveling the globe recording a documentary series featuring those sustainability leaders. The pilot is already in post-production. Babi is fluent in Portuguese and English and proficient in Spanish.
